[...] I thought the official reopening would be happening at the end of the month, but obviously not though there is nothing about it on the Dublin City Council website, so maybe there will be more pomp and ceremony and yesterday’s event was just a photo call. RTE reports on the ending of the works here while the great Blogorrah has a pic of the Lord Mayor at the opening. [...]

The sculptures at the top of Grafton Street are changed on a regular basis, as far as I'm aware. I wish they'd put them on some sort of plinth, though..

(I also can't believe that I've been travelling through part of O'Connell Street more or less every day since those statues are said to have appeared, and I still haven't noticed them. "Unobservant" isn't the word...)

The Greyhound caught the Hare in bed with Phil Lynott and threw her out. Hare moved to O'Connell Street and hooked up with Daniel O'Connell who was also on the rebound after breaking up with Anna Livia. But now Daniel is getting jealous of Charles Stewart Parnell who he says has been giving his bird the eye. Jim Larkin is getting between the two to stop a fight but is out numbered since his mate Nelson left. While the others are distracted James Joyce is trying a few chat up lines. Hare thinks he talks too much and would prefer a shot at Cúchulainn but he only has eyes for Oscar Wilde. She is so pissed off with all the macho crap that she has been paying a little too much attention to the Spire.

Meanwhile the poor Greyhound, having always been a bit of a breast man, spotted the ample cleavage of Molly Malone but after a one night stand he caught a bit of a fever and swore off women. He is currently curled up in a ball watching people go by from the balcony of his new pyramid style apartment. That said he is secretly hoping his first love Queen Victoria will return from Australia.

Confused? Try <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dublin_statues_and_their_nicknames#List_of_Dublin_Statues_.28People.29" rel="nofollow">this page for enlightenment</a>.
