Hi, I'm thinking about taking part in this challange next year and I'm just wondering how you got on with the fundraising? How much did you manage to raise and how did you manage to raise it. I'm a bit worried about raising that kind of money but I really want to go. There are three of planning to go so thats €12k we need to raise between us!! So any tips would be greatly appreciated!!

I've written articles before on this challenge for my newspaper when local people got involved and it's such a great cause. I interviewed several of them when they got back too and they said it was just the most amazing experience, indescribable really, so they showed me photographs they had taken of smiling children and happy families with a home to try to get the message across. Some of them said they cried when the families thanked them, others vowed to go back, some said they left part of their heart out there.

You should deffo do the donations thing on this website, but also, why not have an event or a blogger party with all funds going towards the cause? Use the resources you have here. I'd be pleased to write an article for you and try to get it into some newspapers (though of course, now that I've said that I'll bet no one will want to print it!) and there are other journalists on here, people with celebrity connections (Rick and Wayne!!) who I'm sure would be happy to help. Use your friends, that what we're for!
