Bus Strike on Thursday evening
Dec | August 29, 2006The National Bus and Rail Union have called a strike for this Thursday starting at 7pm. There will be no Dublin Bus, Bus Eireann or Nite Link services that evening. Services will resume again on Friday morning.
The union is claiming it has called this strike in an attempt to improve the service to customers. I’ll leave it up to your own judgement and experience of previous public service strikes to say if you believe them or not.

Dec! You pipped me to the post – pun not intended. Guess I should delete my post.
Ahh, man, that means that I will have to take a taxi from the city centre to Beaumont (and back) to have dinner at a friend’s house.
Assuming they are not on strike as well. You know the way taxi drivers are.
Taxi Driver 1 “Ouch, I stubed my toe on the curb”
Taxi Driver 2 “Right thats it, we cannot tollerate footpaths and pedestrians eating into our profits anymore. Everyone out, we’re having a strike”
TD1 + TD2 “Footpath, Footpath, Footpath, Out, Out, Out”
TD2 “Hey you, scab, get off the footpath, no walking in Dublin”
