Ciara, you correct in your answer. The first time I had a Java Republic coffee was at a place called "The Barn" out at City West area. I was actually gob smacked with the cup, so I enquired about who produced it and they showed me the pack, must say that their tea supply is also worth it. So I contacted them and asked who else sells their coffee in the Dublin area, and I found a good few spots in the city where I can drink their coffee without having to travel very far for a High end excellent blend and taste.

The sad thing is, I don't even think Java Republic paid Van Poegenpool to write that little ad.

I am a serious coffee drinker, but I wouldn't drink any brand of coffee.I have had the Starbucks coffee,Bewleys, and Insomnia coffee made by Matthew Algae .But there is one brand that I must say is the best I have tasted yet, and made in Ireland and to add to that, they have won 69 medals for their production,I seriously encourage all coffee drinkers and to be drinkers to go to your local stores like Tesco or Super Quinn and get a pack of ground coffee, made by Java Republic Roasting Company or buy it online at http://www.javarepublic.com/iopen24/.
Great coffee and tea Java Republic.

I've had the misfortune to try starbucks coffee in a few countries and you're right, it does taste the same all over the world. The only downside to this is that it tastes like muck, bitter and weak, and to add insult to injury it's equally as expensive, nice that they're consistent eh??
Let me add some hope though, Busy Feet cafe on Chatham street, while a bit noisy, serves up Fairtrade coffee and if you doubt whether there could be a difference just try it out. Also, there is a Fairtrade shop just up from the Gaiety near Stephens Green that sells beans or ground in a few different flavours. Nothing compares to brewing your own at home, and if you grind the beans the flavour is hugely enhanced.

The Blewleys hotel on the naas road newlands cross may not be the best blewleys in Dublin but the atmosphere is relaxed, the staff are nice and the coffee is not nearly as expensive as most of the fashionable coffee shops in Dublin. Oh yeh, the large sofas are really comfy.
