Vote for Stacey – You’re a Star
RedMum | December 6, 2006I met a very nice taxi driver the other evening and we were chatting about all sorts, you know the kinds of conversations, property prices, mad drivers, the weather, when he asked me did I watch You’re A Star. At first I said no then I remembered I had actually watched it the night before with my Mum who is currently staying with me. So we chatted about that and about Brendan O’Connor and his credentials that enable him to judge musicians (oh yeah that’s right it is the pretty ones he likes) before he told me his daughter is on this week’s show.
I should have gotten more details from him but her name is Stacey, she’s a Dubliner and as the Dublin auditions for the show were full she travelled to Monaghan and will be on this Sunday’s show singing an old Canadian song. A poster urging his customers to vote for his daughter is prominently displayed in the front of his cab, and he even gave me one.
So this is for the proud Daddy taxi man, vote Stacey cos according to her Dad she has a beautiful voice and people should keep her in the show.

Shame on that Brendan — voting for only the pretty ones. Not on meritorious criteria… like having met someone’s father in a taxi… or being from their hometown…
Brendan is that you?
Seriously though I’m not from Dublin, and as this is a Dublin blog, a proud Daddy and her being from Dublin was a good enough reason for me. I am not a judge on the programme which is the big difference, but thanks for your comment trjh
Spurred by your post, I made a point of watching “Your a Star” tonight. As a rule, I’m attracted to baleful dark male singers with broken hearts and an acoustic guitar. But I have to say, Stacey is stunning. Her Dad has every reason to be proud.
