Lovely photos. Last year it was noticed there was a plaque on the bridge and it turned out to be a prank which had been there for 2 years!

More info <a rel="nofollow" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Father_Pat_Noise" rel="nofollow">here</a>.

ah, these are beautiful photos. thanks for posting! for christmas my husband bought me the photo of the ha'penny bridge that is always on the top of this forum. there's something magical about bridges, don't you think?

several years ago he and i were visiting ireland at the same time as my california nephew was there. so we agreed to meet a on a certain day on the o'connell bridge, between 2 and 2:30 in the afternoon. we told all our friends and relatives to watch the webcam at that time, that we would wave to them all.

as it turned out, my husband and i were coming in from galway that day on the train, so it was a tight squeeze making it to the bridge on time. it was also pouring down rain, and as we ran toward the bridge my husband kept saying, "he's not going to be there. it's pouring out!" but we pelted up to the bridge at 2:25 p.m. and saw someone in a bright red anorak standing on the bridge. that bright red stood out in the rain like a flag, and we knew right away it was shawn.

then the three uf bounced up and down in front of the webcam for a few minutes, waving to the folks back home, and retreated to mulligans to warm up with some stout.

turns out that was the day the webcam was down. but still. was lots of fun.
