(Almost) Sir Bono
Dervla | March 30, 2007Yesterday Bono was presented with an honorary knighthood by the British Ambassador, David Reddaway, at his Dublin Embassy residence. Since the news of his knighthood was announced in December there has been a lot of discussion as to whether or not he should have been awarded it and if he should accept it. I’m delighted he accepted it and in my opinion he thoroughly deserves the recognition for his tireless campaigning against global poverty and outstanding contribution to music. Because he is not a British citizen he cannot use the title “Sir”. No doubt he’ll be called by many other names!
Nice one Bono

And yesterday, a U2 church service called “U2charist” was held in Dublin. Seriously. I know it was April 1st yesterday, but this is no April Fool’s Day stunt. Check it out HERE. Interesting, to say the least.
Thats rather odd!
Theres an exhibition of U2 memorabilia on in the Clarence today. No mention of how long for though.
