Great post Marieke. Pretty much exactly my experience. For starters I had the Steamed Mussels - Tomato broth, crispy bacon & spring onion for starters. Nothing very exciting about them - I think they sounded better on the menu! For mains, I had the same as Orla - Pan Fried Fillet of Plaice - Sweet potoa, butterbean & vegetable cassoulet with coconut milk & coriander. It was a very nice combination which I enjoyed. I was one of the lucky few who went for the yummy dessert - Warm Danish Apple Cake - Vanilla custard, creme diplomat & filo crisps. Absolutely the nicest cake I've had in a long time. Very yummy indeed. I had the house red wine which was very good.

It took me a while to figure out the whole toilet door imagery and it wasn't the volume of wine!! A little confusing I think!

A very nice restaurant and I look forward to a return visit.

My ratings - 4/5 for food, 3/5 for service, 4/5 for ambiance and 4/5 for value which totals 15 out of a possible 20.

I think Marieke hit the nail on the head with the review. I have to say, I just realised that there were no quails eggs in my tuna starter! For my mains, I had pan fried plaice with a 'thai-flavoured' cassoulet. Which, I am surprised to say, worked really well.
Dishes are not that big, which is nice at the end of a three course meal. The house wine was delicious, but the service was on the snooty side - but it was prompt and efficient.
To add to the 'torte' dessert - they looked & tasted like MrKipling chocolate fingers!
The meal would have been near perfect if I had ordered the apple cake for dessert.
My rating! food: 4/5, ambiance 4/5, service 3/5 and value 4/5. Result: 15 out of 20.
