A trip to Citywest from Inchicore took over an hour yesterday morning when it normally takes 15 mins! I'm hoping that its just taking drivers a couple of days to get used to the new layout and that the madness doesn't continue for a whole year! The same on Friday - the traffic simply is there in the places where it didn't use to be on that time. And I notice this in the mornings as well (though I go against the flow and it's only 7-8 minutes of driving) - two three weeks ago the traffic was fine and now it's a mess. No clue as to the reasons though... It’s not only the M50 which is suffering – yesterday I was going towards the center and I just turned around and went home after hearing the traffic report, cause I didn’t want to waste time. It's been literally manic there and in the surrounding areas such as Clondalkin. I was on a bus for a full hour on Monday for a journey that should take no more than 20 or 25 minutes maximum. Madness! Hopefully though it'll sort itself out and people will get used to it. I think there was a difficulty with the amount of lanes open to motorists but there are to be new lanes added, though I'm open to correction on that one.
