The Luas is one of the safest transport systems in the world, according to a story on BreakingNews.ie. In the 3 years it has been operational no one has been seriously injured on or by the Luas. That beats the original estimates of up to five fatalities a year. Five fatalities? Dear God, who designed the Luas and thought 5 fatalities a year would have been a good estimate?

On the up side, plans to extend the Luas Green Line out to Bray will be unveiled tomorrow with lines branching off to other locations.

There are some exciting art exhibitions currently taking place around the city. My pick of the bunch are:

* New Work by Bridget Riley from May 24 – June 30th at the Green on Red Gallery.

* Lucian Freud at IMMA starting today until September 2nd.

* The 177th RHA Annual Exhibition which runs until June 30th.

The Independent is reporting that election campaign posters around the city are required to come down as of today when fines are supposed to go into effect. Seems that most Dubliners would prefer them down for the bank holiday weekend, but it appears as if the €125 per poster fine will probably not be given out until after the holiday weekend.

Hopefully THIS POSTER will remain up for a while. =)
