But you can still have free WIFI if you have the right equipment and set up.

		<description>Adrian Weckler in the Sunday Business Post the day after that article wrote that the council would push ahead with a &quot;digital divide&quot; plan instead of a full wi-fi for the city. This plan would only last 3 years and may only provide access to government web pages instead of to the internet proper. 

He claimed the problem is that the council fears that the European Commission will shut down the project since it would be seen as state subsidies interfering with commercial interests. 

Though many other cities and towns have introduced free wi-fi without the wrath of Brussels falling upon them so I suspect the council is just bowing to pressure from the telcos and companies that charge an arm and a leg for wi-fi.</description>
