No Skyfest for Dublin

Dec | February 13, 2008

The Skyfest fireworks display that usually makes up part of the St Patrick’s Festival in Dublin will be held in Cashel instead this year. In the past the event has drawn large crowds to the quays to watch the display and I personally was looking forward to the opportunity to take some cool photographs around the Custom House. This year the Rock Of Cashel will provide the back drop for the fireworks. It should be a spectacular venue but it is still a shame to see Dublin loose the event.

That’s too bad. Cashel will be a brilliant backdrop for the fireworks, but it’d be cool if they could do it in both places. Any idea if there are plans to televise the fireworks?

I’m so disappointed! I’d really been looking forward to it, especially as it was called off last year :(

THIS IS STUPID YES CASHEL WOULD BE NICE BUT THE FESTIVE WHICH IS MOSTLY IN THE CAPATAL AND DRAWS ALOTTA TOURISTS INTO DUBLIN ITS SELF IS LOSSING OUT BIG TIME I THINK ITS A BAD IDEA

Hahaha, I had plans to go up to Dublin(from midlands) to see it. Then someone told me it was going to be in Cashel, looks like I’ll be heading the other way. Seems like tickets were used for this so hope we get a chance to see something!

well dublin will never hold an event like this again. and its notting to do with the rest of the country getting a look in. its the garda they had there say and said that its to dear to police. all they want to do is sit in there nice cosy station drinking tea and coffee. o sorry no coffee that might make them want to work. dublin always suffers when the garda made up of 80per cent red necks puts the boot in dublin for the dubs afterall we are the ones keeping the whole country aflot it makes me sick to think that you can be locked up in prision 100times quicker for a traffic offence than a drugs or robbery if there is money involved then the garda hench men dept collectors willbe at your door at six in the morning good old ireland were going down the tubes i cant wait there are some people that need to be strung up
