Well done Dublin City and Redmum.

I agree with Brandon, next year will be even better! Only found out about Earth Hour yesterday but love the idea of it and I'm thinking next year an 'Earth Hour' Party! Just candles, beer, wine and company for an hour!

[...] As last year, most major cities and landmarks all over the world will deliberately switch off as many lights as possible for one hour at 8.30 PM local time tonight. This year Earth Hour is the biggest grassroots marketing campaign the world has seen.
Brilliant! Thanks, RedMum. I was wondering about how it went in the city centre. I noticed on one news site that "Dublin's financial district blazed away with light, illuminating floor after empty floor of desks and idling computers." Apparently, there was some disappointment for Dublin's Earth Hour organizers as a result, but I'm betting that it will catch on a little more next year.
