A Packed Out June in Dublin!
Brandon | June 11, 2009Every year, the month of June is packed with festivals and other events here in Dublin. At DublinBlog, we may not be able to be at everything, but we’d like to alert you to as many as we can and then ask YOU to give us feeback on your experience of these events.
This weekend sees the end of Trinity College’s first annual Shakespeare Festival, which has offered both free open-air (the way Shakespeare was meant to be performed!) and indoor ticketed performances, as well seminars and other related events. CLICK HERE to see the event calendar on Google.
The Bloomsday Festival also continues through this weekend and ends on the 16th. (Also known by some literary types as “Bloomsday.â€)
Several things happening for the kiddies coming up this weekend are a Kid’s Stage Festival at the Imaginosity in Sandyford and a free Block Party performance by Dance Theatre Ireland in Blanchardstown (hosted by DraÃocht).
Next weekend (18-21 July), Dublin braces itself for another Street Performance World Championship, which has been a big hit over the last few years.
That same weekend (20th & 21st), Temple Bar will be celebrating the summer solstice in style with “fire, feasting, film, and a fair.†Rumour has it that Meeting House Square will be temporarily transformed into a grassy meadow for the two days of Midsummer in Temple Bar.
If you know of other noteworthy events happening in the coming weeks, throw ‘em at us! And if you are able to make any of these events and you have stories to tell of your experience, throw those at us too!
