I love the way Karen notices day-to-day details from the point of view of a newcomer, instead of giving them for granted as local commuters do because they're so used to seeing the same thing every day.
I have lived in Dublin for one year, and gone back there many times since, and I had never thought there could be a whole story behind the queue at the stairs of a bus.
Apart of being a writing masterpiece, this article is very useful for tourists!
Thank you Karen!

Also important to know on the new DARTs there's a screen and an automated voice that tells you what stop is next and what the final destination of the DART is.....but it's nearly always wrong! You have to read the signs at the station to know where you are and completely ignore the voice on the speaker and the red ticker tape screens telling you your somewhere completely different. It doesn't bother me because I'm from Dublin and know the stops but it must be tough on the tourists.
