Go Play Ltd installed the playground in Marlay Park and I was wondering if I could please use the picture that you have used in your blog for a calendar that Go Play are preparing.

Talking of vandalism to playgrounds, I was at Fairview Park today and was dismayed to notice that two of the bigger swings were missing leaving only a frame standing! There was only one swing left on the other frame. A man, noticing that my little boy and his friend were rolling down the hill and playing in the grass stopped me and told me that his dog had been in the park last week and uncovered some needles. There was also a lot of glass from broken beer bottles around the place. The other two parks and playgrounds that we frequent are St Annes Park and Drumcondra. They are both lovely playgrounds but have not escaped the wrath of the vandals. Is nothing sacred? I have posted this link and Andy's link above on my blog to highlight my concern on the issue.

All the best

Hi Dee,

THanks for the comment. Inchicore is not far from us so I must pop over and check it out. If you think of it could you let us know when it opens?

Andy - thanks for the comment and the link to your blog post about vandalism of playgrounds. It is scandalous and frustrating when a new facility like those mentioned in your post are as good as destroyed within six months of opening.

I have plans to head to Malahide as we are keen to check out the model railway there as well!

Thanks!

The playground in Malahide is the best I've been to yet. It's great and has stuff for kids of all ages. The playground at St Anne's is not bad either. I hear Marley Park has a good playground too. Sadly many playgrounds have been quite badly vandalised in recent years with units being burnt down at St Anne's Park and in the playground at the visitors centre.

they are building what looks like a shiny new playground in the small park in inchicore village. It looks quite good from the road although Ive noticed that the kids who have been breaking into the site over the last week while its being put down seem to prefer climbing on the jcb thats left overnight than any of the climbing frames or slides!
